Give fear the side eye

This quote was pulled from a poem I wrote called Weekend Reflection.

Weekend Reflection

This week I saw my strength and tenacity

I saw my tolerance and mental judgement

I felt my forgiveness and witnessed its importance

I struggled with my patience

I was in tune with my emotions

Awareness was made of what I need to improve on

This week I loved me a little more than last week

I pulled my courage from my faith

I stepped out of my comfort zone and I still felt at home

I gave fear the side eye and made more use of my third eye

This week I learnt so much about myself

I appreciate the knowledge as I grow

I'm ready for the lessons of next week to be shown

The quote 'Give fear the side eye' stood out for me and held its truth as a statement on its own.

For me it is a reminder that you have acknowledged a fear of some kind and you are aware that its is trying to take you off course and make you question yourself.

However, as conscious as you are of the fear's presence, you have no time to entertain it.

Metaphorically you cut your eye at it, you give it a look to put it in its place as you don’t have time for fear!

You make the choice to ‘Feel the fear and do it anyway!' (Susan Jeffers).

There are many times in life we hold ourselves back because we enteratin a small inkling, notion or whisper of fear. We will turn a simple decision into indecision. We create worry when there is none.

Fear, as in self doubt, and gut feeling/inststinct are two different things and must be identified and treated as such as one can cripple you and one can save you.

In a nutshell be mindful of your self talk and the langauage you use when speaking to or about yourself. Be cautious of the type of information you are digesting.
